Checking out the Bureau Of Land Management (BKM) Red Cliffs National Conservation Area - Lots of people using the land for day use and a few people camping longer term. I guess you can stay for a few weeks in one spot for free. Nice option for people who have a van or smaller rig. I can see Stacy staying for free in her van under the Utah sky. https://www.blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/utah/red-cliffs-nca

Zion National Park is a beautiful park 30-40 minutes from St. George. The townsite before the park reminds me of Canmore and the park itself is reminiscent of Banff National Park. I am sure glad we took the time to visit the park, hike around a little and check out the sites. - https://www.nps.gov/zion/index.htm

Jerome

IMG_4725I have always been told to visit Jerome, but no one mentioned that it was up a mountain. I sure was surprised as we made our way up!

IMG_4726It is hard to visualize the number of people working at the mine up the mountain.

IMG_4723Old copper mine rail cars.

IMG_4727A nice view of the townsite.

IMG_4729And another view.

IMG_4724And yet another view.

IMG_4712Getting ready to check into the Haunted Hamburger for our lunch reservation on the patio with Cody. Is that a skeleton scaling the wall?

IMG_4718Yup, how can you not have a Bloody Mary at the Haunted Hamburger.

IMG_4715Food and drinks hit the spot.

IMG_4717The spirits have moved the bookshelf into the roof. Be sure to look around to see other spooky oddities.

IMG_4721The view as we enjoy our lunch.

IMG_0070Our campsite in Camp Verde is off in the distance.

Jerome Arizona:
https://azjerome.com
  • It was a nice suppose to see how high up the mountain Jerome really is. The road is windy and switches back and fort and at parts you feel like the road is about to end. This drive is a must if you are in the areas. There is lots of shops to see and restaurants to eat at. Be sure to stop in at Haunted Hamburger for a Bloody Mary.

Montezuma Castle and Well National Mounuments

IMG_0050After seeing the cliff dwellers in Sedona, we wanted to see Montezuma Caste - the 20 ancient apartment showcasing the Native American culture and way of life back then.

IMG_4624It's truly remarkable how the people found shade, water and housing in such a harsh desert climate.

IMG_4627As you walk the ancient neighbourhood, you try to imagine what life was like.

IMG_4628The ruins clearly show where once walls stood to create rooms for storing food and living in.

IMG_4632A river runs very close to where the people lived, providing much needed water.

IMG_4633This is a model of what the castle would have looked like.

IMG_4636Stopped to check out the famous Fry Bread

IMG_4648After a quick bite of Fry Bread we drove to Montezuma's Well

IMG_4642A nice and easy walk to the well from the parking lot

IMG_4643It's amazing to see such an oasis in the middle of the desert. I can't image how critical this spot was.

IMG_4646Darrel and Cody walked the perimeter of the well as I navigated the ancient stairs to make my way to the water well.

IMG_4647Many homes are still visible around the top of the well along with the caves down at the bottom.

IMG_4652The desert in Arizona is always breathtaking with its views.

IMG_4654As I walk down into the well, I stop to take in the screen view and realize how quiet things are. All I can hear is the babbling brook of water leaving the well and birds singing songs or praise for the abundance of food and water.

IMG_4655Slowing making my way down the starts. I stop to take a photo for Darrel as He is at the top and missing this viewpoint.

IMG_4656 The area has an abundance of plants that offer food, medicinal properties and shelter.

IMG_4658The water source come up from a natural spring and replenishes itself continually, the water is not stale or stagnant.

IMG_4660Another dwelling at the bottom of the well near the water and natural canal where water drains out to a stream.

IMG_4665Water drains from the well under the rocks into a narrow canal or tube at this point.

IMG_4679A beautiful day to take in all the glory of Mother Nature.

IMG_4687Interesting architecture of a home that was constructed underground.

IMG_4688

IMG_4689A roof has been placed over the structure to help preserve it. I wish there was a way to see inside.

Sedona

IMG_0030The red rock and blue skies are endless.

IMG_4598Amazing views from the Chapel Trail.

IMG_4601More views from the trail.

IMG_4602This is the outside of the Chapel of the Holy Cross. It's wedged perfectly into the rock and offers a beautiful view from the sanctuary.

IMG_4586sitting outside the Chapel taking in the surroundings. Some dark clouds moved in, but they moved out just as quickly. It was a great day.

IMG_0028Darrel off to check out the Chapel and Cody and I stayed outside meeting people. Cody loved getting all the attention from people from all over the world. People would tell us that they missed their dog who was at home while they were on vacation and then thanked Cody for the love. I think Cody enjoyed it just as much as they did.

IMG_4590Chapel of the Holy Cross.

IMG_4592Walking back to the Jeep after taking a moment to reflect at the Chapel. So many tings to be thankful for.

The drive to Sedona was a quick 30 minutes from Camp Verde. As you drop into Sedona, the terrain changes along with the beauty. I always love visiting Sedona and seeing the familiar sights. If you have not been, go! You will be happy you went.

Tortilla Flats & Ghost Town

IMG_1825Today we decided to go to Tortilla Flats accessed via Tonto National Forest.

IMG_4282The landscape is amazing with rolling hills, green desert and cactus.

IMG_4283This has to be some of the nicest desert landscape I have seen in a long time.

IMG_4286Who knew there was such a large lake in the desert.

IMG_1910Many people are in kayaks and paddle boards enjoying the calm water.

IMG_1898From a distance, this looked like a nose sticking out of the desert.

IMG_4292Arrived at Tortilla Flats - ready for lunch.

IMG_4294Stopped into the only restaurant and got some takeout food. We decided to head back to the lake and eat in peace.

IMG_4293The Old Dutchman - "Arizona's most celebrated scoundrel".

IMG_4298The birds and a paddle boat passed by as we had lunch with Cody outside.

IMG_1911On our way back, we stopped to take more photos.

IMG_1926And more photos.

IMG_4327And more photos.

IMG_4330And more photos.

I am so glad we did a day trip out into the desert to see Tortilla Flats. The scenery is beautiful and virtually untouched for centuries. If you are in the area, add this to your bucket list. IMG_4331Goldfield Ghost Town - just outside of Apache Junction and on the way back from Tortilla Flats.

IMG_4332You can tour the gold mine and enjoy the old ghost town.

IMG_4335Lots to see, a few things to do. Like a train ride, mine tour and ghost tour.

IMG_4336The layout is like Heritage Park in Calgary, but free to access and walk around.

IMG_4338As you walk the street around the mine, you get a sense of what it would have been like in its day.

IMG_4340Perfect ghost town with an amazing mountain view.

IMG_4341This is an actual lift used in the mine to transport people and goods.

It was free to walk around and dogs on leases are welcome. It's a great stop to hit on your way back to Apache Junction/ Mesa for ice cream and a bathroom break. I wanted to do the mine tour, but it was getting later in the day. We may come back sometime to do the tour and train ride (I am a sucker for train rides). Website: https://goldfieldghosttown.com

Mesa/Apache Junction KOA

IMG_1814I can't believe how green the desert is right now! We hare between Tucson and Mesa with green as fast as the eye can see.

IMG_4268Welcome and check in at the KOA office.

IMG_4221We have a large site with outdoor kitchen and patio. Great for the moderate Arizona climate this time of year.

IMG_4224Cody enjoying the shade and light breeze.

IMG_4228Sun setting wile Darrel enjoyed the Brier.

IMG_4232Small and not a lot of sites. Some of the campgrounds have 2200 sites in the area. Yuck!

Mesa/Apache Junction KOA:
https://koa.com/campgrounds/mesa/
  • Campsite #71 - $81.40 per night (before the KOA discount and points redemption)
  • Pool, Laundry and dog area (not great)
  • Far from Mesa as you are literally on the far edge of Apache Junction

This KOA is on the east edge of Apache Junction and is about a 35 minute drive to PHX airport. There are restaurants, food stores and shopping within 1.5 miles of the campground. The campground has crushed granite for the parking pad and camp site and is dusty. We upgraded to a patio site as the weather was forecasted to be 26 deg C. We used some of our KOA points for $50 off our stay. I would stay here agin as it has great access to the rural areas and I can get to the airport in reasonable time. I think some people will find this to be too far outside of Scottsdale/Phoenix area.

Pima Air & Space Museum

IMG_4124Finally made it to the Pima Air & Space Museum.

IMG_4146Great exhibits inside and out, all dog friendly.

IMG_4214The museum is a must see if you are in the area.

Dick (Richard) Lerner was a great friend of mine who I met while serving our community as a Director on the Board. Dick was instrumental in bringing forward kindness, forgiveness and progress. Dick worked in the Aero Space industry and would share how his worked helped develop some of the technology still used by aircraft manufacturers today. I am sorry I was not able to tour the museum with Dick, but I am glad I got to finally visit, think of him, and see all the cool airplanes.

Leaping To Tombstone

IMG_4052The old dusty main street of Tombstone - "The Town To Tough To Die".

IMG_4054We enjoyed lunch with Cody in the old Hotel Tombstone.

IMG_4055Haunted hotels form the souls that departed the OK Corral.

IMG_4059A great way to experience the old west.

IMG_4060 Lawmen and Cowboys - the street is getting lively.

IMG_4069Rich in history, great to see reenacted.

IMG_4070O.K. Corral Gunfight - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunfight_at_the_O.K._Corral

Today is February 29, a leap year and also a good day to get out to Tucson and sightsee some of the towns. Today we ventured out to Tombstone, a quick 1 hour drive from Tucson and it's a must see. I really enjoyed experiencing the history of the old west and the townspeople do a great job! The town is free to visit but many of the attractions have a small fee ($5 to $10), as this is how they make money. Today's Tombstone is tourism and not silver mines. I've included a few links to for you to read upon on the history and things to do! We stayed for 3 or 4 hours, so take an afternoon and enjoy the drive and sights. Note: Ironically, the last gunfight is at the same time as the infamous 3:00 PM gunfight that took place on October 26, 1881.

There was an extensive network of canals that allowed the people to grow corn (for over 4,100 years in the area). It amazes me that people were able to live in this harsh summer desert, I guess if there is a will there is a way!

Motorhome Wash & Sightseeing

IMG_3826The local RV Park wash guys did a good job at getting the sea salt off the coach.

IMG_1620We drove south of Tucson to the town of Tubac and checked out some of the art shops. Very cool town.

IMG_3831Outside of town is the Tumacácori National Historical Park, Cody was not allowed in so we just checked out the grounds that we could and then watched the video on the National Park Service website - https://www.nps.gov/tuma/index.htm

IMG_3828I love that they have a program to monitor the Monarch butterflies. I have to say, I only seen 1 Monarch last year, not good! - https://www.monarchwatch.org

IMG_1623Darrel snapped this awesome looking cactus on the Anza Trailhead.

IMG_3832Next stop, fresh made-to-order chips and salsa - the wait was well worth it at Wisdom's Cafe - https://www.wisdomscafe.com

IMG_3837Another Border Security checkpoint cleared as we travel north back to Tucson. We were very close to the Mexican border.

Old Tucson and Saguaro National Park

IMG_3762A welcomed day spent sightseeing as the cool weather and driving days kept us from enjoying the outdoors. It is nice to be outside again after a long drive from the Gulf shore.

IMG_3758Amazing lookout over Old Tucson.

IMG_3755Cacti for days!

IMG_3756Tucson in the distance, a nice park on the fringe of the city.

IMG_1572As we got back into the Jeep, there was a steep decent down the mountain with a sign warning not to drink and drive. Where was the sign that says steep decent and no guard rail. Ironically, coming up the hill there was a car in the ditch that was being winched out. I guess this is a common occurrence here, however this cliff is very high up and it is straight down with no guards. Eeek.

IMG_3773At the bottom of the mountain now, glad to park and look back up from where we came from. Tucson is on the other side of this mountain.

IMG_3786Old Tucson is a cute western town themed attraction in the middle of the desert - https://oldtucson.com

IMG_1582They have western themed shows.

IMG_3789Amazing to see so many saguaro cacti, had to FaceTime Tyshawn and let him see "Johnny" (yes, there is a story here, be sure to ask me) - https://www.nps.gov/sagu/index.htm

IMG_3782A barrel cactus getting ready to bloom. I once was in Phoenix and got to see the desert in full bloom. So beautiful to see.

IMG_3776Over 5000 saguaro cactus - amazing check out this link for come cool facts and informatioin - https://www.nps.gov/sagu/learn/nature/saguaro.htm

IMG_3775The Saguaro National Park was pretty to see, we will come back for a day hike.

IMG_3790On our way back to Tucson. Lots of cool desert sites were seen and we can't wait to come back and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer here in Arizona.

IMG_3794Home now to watch the Super Bowl. All the US commercials are great, too bad they are not all shown in Canada.

The Alamo and San Antonio

IMG_1444We just arrived in San Antonio and our first stop is the Alamo.

IMG_1445We only had half an hour before it closed, so it was a quick visit.

IMG_1446The Spanish buildings are amazing to see.

IMG_1447The site of the Alamo is rich in history.

IMG_1448I wish we had more than 30 minutes here.

IMG_1453The Church was open longer and we were able to take our time.

San Antonio/Alamo KOA:
https://koa.com/campgrounds/san-antonio/
  • Campsite #E-08 - $113.40 (with the KOA discount)
  • Onsite restaurant, bar, pools and entertainment.
  • Secured campground with 24x7 onsite security.

The staff loved meeting Cody and offered many hugs and kisses. The campground is in an area that is a bit dodgy but the onsite security removes any worries. We felt safe and the campground was large and lots of walking options for Cody. The Compound is not far from the Alamo, you can take a bus (DON'T), use a ride share service (Uber/Lyft), or drive your own car. There is pay parking around the Alamo, but again, it's a big city and the downtown core is a bit dodgy too! Lots of homeless, poverty and drug issues were seen.

Lifes A Beach

IMG_3548The county lets you park your car and motorhome on the beach. Many boondock here, including our friends Woody and John.

Cody-00914Cody living the salt life!

IMG_3597Cody loves to follow his nose and cruise up and down the each with his paws in the sand and the sun on his back! Now this is living life to the fullest.

IMG_3579Lovely afternoon stroll.

IMG_3604Following the path back to the resort.

IMG_3559Enjoying the sunset while saying goodbye to the Gulf's beach as we get ready to depart in the morning.

Daytrip to Galveston

IMG_3517Waiting for the ferry to Galveston.

IMG_3529Oh look, a large coach like ours fits!

IMG_3530All aboard.

IMG_1374Oil tankers all queued up waiting to enter the port.

IMG_3540Ships as far as the eye can see - I think we counted over 30 waiting.

IMG_1400Nice boardwalk in Galveston.

IMG_3543Cody enjoying the ferry ride back to Bolivar Peninsula with a haul from Walmart.

Bolivar Peninsula - Galveston Ferry:
https://www.bolivarpeninsulatexas.com/About/Galveston-Bolivar-Ferry or http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/ferrytimes/
  • Free ferry
  • 2.7 miles
  • 18 minutes duration
  • 9 min loading time

The ferry was quick and easy to board. I was really surprised to find out that the ferry was free and ran 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I think this is the quickest way to a hospital for many, via the hospital express boarding lane. There is very little stores (grocery and what not) on the Bolivar Peninsula, so a quick trip to Galveston lets you do your major shopping and pick up the much needed milk, bread and TP! Winking

Rocket Man

IMG_3032SpaceX rocket launch.

3-2-1 BLAST OFF

We were walking Cody and noticed that there was a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral. The rocket boosters re-entered orbit and ignited their engines to navigate back to Cape Canaveral, SpaceX reuses the boosters. It was cool to experience, this was the second launch while we have been down in Florida but the first we seen.

Here is a link to the launch video: https://www.space.com/spacex-launch-swedish-satellite-ovzon-3

Welcome Stacy

IMG_2487Stacy just arrived for a visit before Christmas.

IMG_9239Sightseeing with Cody and enjoying the company.

IMG_2496BEACH!

IMG_2618Moments to cherish.

IMG_2640Jupiter beach at marker 27 is amazing and it's one of the few dog friendly beaches.

IMG_2676Storm rolled in so we sent to the beach to see. The clouds and the ocean is mesmerizing with the colours, wind and power of Mother Nature. As the sand blasts your face, you are left with a great spa treatment and the taste of salt on your lips. Darrel and Cody were smart, they did not want to mess their hair and stayed in the Jeep.

IMG_2684Hold on!

IMG_2770Watching the sun set over the inlet in Jupiter.

IMG_2880Goodbye Stacy - See you again soon!

Friends

It was great to reconnect post COVID and let go of the differences and just focus on the friendship and what is important in life. Stacy loved Florida and took up the opportunity to talk to other RV people who are travelling full time. It was nice to see Stacy planning her future and working on her dreams. Good Luck Stacy in your search and I can't wait to see you on the road with us! Hurry, you still have time to make your way south!

Florida Keys

It was great to make our way down to the keys from Palm Beach. We enjoyed the sun, warm weather and great food. There was a car accident that closed the sea highway from Key Largo to the 7 mile bridge so we did not get to see Key West this trip.

IMG_2079Taking a relaxing ride on the People Mover. This ride was decommissioned in California but nice to see it still here in Florida. This ride was also one of my Grandmothers favourites. Nice to be at a Disney park and remembering my late Grandmother Brown.

IMG_2062Merry Christmas from Disney's Magic Kingdom.

IMG_2058Classic photo opportunity at the front gates and train station.

IMG_2050A boat arriving at Magic Kingdom full of people.

IMG_2081The new Tron ride. The rollercoaster looks pretty awesome, but the lines are nasty.

  • Review: Arriving at a Disney park is magical and expect nothing different that arriving at this amazing resort and campground in the parks. The experience is just like staying at a Disney hotel on property, you get a room key for your camp site and get all the perks of staying on property (like early access into the parks). It was nice to see everyone had their campsites decorated in Disney Christmas decorations. The Christmas spirit is in full force here at the Disney parks. If you get the opportunity to camp in Florida, you need to come stay here. Book in advance, like Disney hotels, there is high demand all year long.

Savannah

IMG_1227Welcome to Georgia sign.

IMG_1806The lake at our campground. Funny how there is a nice bench to site at, but beside the bench is a sign that warns you of gators. Hmmm. I wonder how many people encounter a gator here!?!?

IMG_1809Eaten alive by mosquitoes but the weather was warm and it was a great evening. The blanket is used to hide from mosquitoes and not to stay warm!

IMG_1228Old Savanna cobble stone streets that are centuries old. 0

IMG_1844Cody enjoying his first Candy store.

IMG_1823We stopped into a local hotel for some A/C and a bathroom break for Darrel and I.

IMG_1839We drove down the cobble stone alley that goes between the high street and the low street between the historic buildings. If you have not been to Savannah, but this on your bucket list. So pretty.

IMG_1837Beautiful historic buildings.

IMG_1832Historic stone steps.

  • Review: Easy to get in, but when leaving we had to ask the neighbour to move their truck so we could get out. Not a big issue, as the neighbour was very friendly. We realized quickly that we needed to order mosquito repellent from Amazon right away. The skeeters were worse than Saskatchewan! The campground is large and had many seasonal long term residents. There are some pretty awesome swans and birds on the lake. There is a lot of warning signs asking you to stay away from the water due to gators. So we walked the property but stayed back from the water. We decided to do a sightseeing trip into town and see the old south. Savannah is very pretty and walking the old streets along the historical buildings was great. There is a famous candy store that we went into and they welcomed Cody too — I have to say, this was Cody's first candy store and he loved it! They even had a dog bone dipped in pet friendly chocolate! Yum.

Mount Plesant / Charleston

IMG_1693Great spot, large patio with comfy chairs and a nice fire pit. Do you see Darrel on the roof? He is doing a A/C unit repair.
IMG_1760Supervising the roof work from a safe distance. I'm not insured if i go on the roof!

IMG_1711Motorhome by night.

IMG_1702As the sun sets, we took Cody for a walk. Yes, avoid the water, like usual in the south.

IMG_1773Gators! eeek!

IMG_1705Lovely walk as the sun setts. So peaceful and relaxing.

IMG_1692Nice pool, but it was closed for the season.

IMG_1708The lake is nice for boating, but no swimming due to gators.

IMG_1720Charleston has some great sites to see, like Rainbow Row.

IMG_1733More colourful houses along Rainbow Row.

IMG_1728Cody is loving meeting new people and checking out new cities.

  • Review: Easy to navigate campground, with paved roads, some shaded spots but still great clearance for Starlink. One of our A/C units started making a loud noise so Darrel inspected and deemed we needed a part. Ordered the parts and just had to use the two other A/C units. Not a big deal, but the weather is hot and we have lots of sun. We like to keep the motorhome cool for Cody. He hates the heat, and well, so does Darrel. We took a short drive downtown to see Charleston and I am so glad we did. The city has so much souther charm and lots to see. Charleston has lots to offer, but we only stayed a few hours and made our way back to the motorhome for dinner and to feed Cody. We had a great day sightseeing and enjoying the people we met.

Myrtle Beach

IMG_1639Lots of trees so we did not use Starlink but the campsite was welcoming and we had a great outdoor space. We did drive to the beach each day, and we even seen other Canadian vehicles parked.

IMG_1684Cody enjoying an afternoon nap outside in the beautiful weather.

IMG_1620Paula Dean's family restaurant has been on our bucket list to try. Food is served family style and was very tasty. I am glad we got to try it! All ya'll need more butter!

IMG_1632Great location in the heart of the tourist area.

IMG_1673We walled the beaches and made our way to the local pier.

IMG_1679Lots of rides in Myrtle Beach along with a mini golf course on every block.

IMG_1669Lots of fun things to see and do, and kids would have a blast here.

IMG_1648Beautify beaches. We are thinking of our friend Barbra who loves to walk the beaches in NJ. We miss you!

IMG_1672I am just so shocked at how nice the beaches are along the warm North Atlantic ocean. WOW!

IMG_1657Cody's foot prints on the beach. Gosh, he has left his foot prints on all of our lives too! I love that we can travel and bring him along on our journey. The motorhome was purchased so we could travel with Cody and live our best lives together.

IMG_1664Early morning trip to walk the beach and then rest for a bit while taking in the sights and sounds of the ocean.

IMG_1670Another boardwalk to explore.

IMG_1644Lovely beach!

IMG_1668There is an amusement park every second block. This place would be so busy in the summer months. Glad we are her win the off-season, exploring without the craziness.

IMG_1674And more beach before the sunset.

IMG_1689When near water, you must take in the amazing sunsets.

IMG_1687So blessed to share these moments with both Darrel and Cody. We have seen impressive sunsets in Hawai'i before, but never with Cody. So glad the three of us are together.

Wilmington NC - Halloween with Friends

IMG_1529Reunited with Charlene. It's the people in life that make the moments so special. Last time we seen Charlene was when we were heading out of Phoenix, after selling the condo and driving back to Calgary. It was great reconnecting and experiencing Wilmington. My good friend Dick brought us together, I am just sad that Dick is no longer with us. We miss you Dick.

IMG_1558Hello Aida, sweet girl. So nice to meet you. Cody loves his new cousin and feels at home here. Dick loved Cody so it is fitting that Cody feels so welcome here in Wilmington.

IMG_1578 (1)Charlene made an amazing seafood dinner and me got to meet TR and Paula, both who have become immediate friends and we cannot wait to see you two again soon.

IMG_1535Familiar? These steps are the ones used in Matlock.

IMG_1531Downtown Wilmington is beautiful and I am glad I have experienced it first hand. Dick used to speak about these sites I am finally seeing in person. Again, I miss you Dick. I am glad i am here with Charlene.

  • Review: We enjoyed the campground but to be honest we did not spend much time here. We were busy visiting cherished friends and did not take in much at the campground. Our campsite was free and clear of large trees so Starlink worked great. We did use the laundry facilities and it was nice to see you could use an app and Apple Pay. Wilmington has lots to offer and has a very large and active gay community. We were welcomed with open arms and met lots of new friends. Thank you Charlene, TR and Paula for a wonderful time. Cody loved meeting his cousin Aida and we cannot wait to return. We miss all of you so much.

IMG_1404As the sun starts to set, I reflect on the day and people making this day so grand. Lucky to experience all of this with Cody.

I feel so blessed to reconnect with Barbara and Sean as we met long ago on a cruise and we have kept in touch. Finding friends at a hot tub and connecting with common ground makes lasting friendships to stand the length of time. Thank you so much Barbara and Mike for an amazing dinner that rates as one of the best (if not the best) seafood restaurant I have ever been to. The food quality was on par with Mama's Fish House on Maui (for those that have been there). Top notch, just ask Guy Fiere! This was an actioned packed few days with beaches, casinos, piers, boardwalks, historic cities, cape may, ferry ride to Delaware and so much more. It was great meeting you Milo, can't wait to see you all again really soon! Hugs and love from us to you!

  • Review: $70 / night for pull through site. The entire campground on a hillside and tricky to navigate. Earlier in the year, the rain washed out the roads but the campground was quick to repair (as per the reviews). We were able to navigate the hill down to the office and then back up the hill to our site. We did not unhook the jeep to park but we did to level the motorhome. The campground is outside of town and you have to take the highway to shops. The campground staff were friendly and decorated for Halloween.

  • Review: $50 / night for pull through site. The sites designated for big rigs are not very big rig friendly. We had to move sites (two down) as the first site was not level and we could not safely auto-level the motorhome. The new site was easy for the motorhome to level but road was narrow and when leaving we had to drive though the campsite in front of us, thank goodness the spot was empty when leaving. I would stay here again as it is so close to Magnetic Hill the water park and PEI but I would ask the office to put me on the end site. We met a couple that were headed to Red Bay for their Halloween service. They were then headed to Mexico with a few other coaches. I am not sure I would want to drive our rig in Mexico.

Happy Thanksgiving

IMG_0790Did somebody say - ROAD TRIP! I'm ready.

IMG_0810This was Kathleen and the kids first time here. We did not plan on the hike today, we may have all had the worst footwear, but we made it.

IMG_0805The beauty and power of Mother Nature is felt here. What a special spot.

Great to be with Friends

IMG_0697Finally arrived after 2801 miles or 4507 km in 14 days. It's nice to stop and relax and spend time with our friends. It's so great to be here with Kathleen and her husband Clarence.
