Vegas with Alesya and Jo Lynn

IMG_4866I'm reunited with my friends from Phoenix. So good to see you!

IMG_4871Checking out the gardens at the Flamingo Casino

IMG_4882Yes, they have flamingos at the Flamingo

IMG_4884You would never know you are in the middle of Vegas

IMG_4886More sights at the Flamingo

IMG_0037The condo in Phoenix connected me with some amazing people that I cherish. The condo is sold but the good people there I am still connected with.

IMG_4886 (1)Why gave I never come out to the gardens?

IMG_4892Off to the Coke bottle on the strip. Going to sample Coke from around the world.

IMG_4898This one was really bad - gag. It tasted like a smoky bbq sauce. Epic fail.

IMG_4902Stopping into Netflix's Stranger Things exhibit and store. Very cool.

IMG_4915Why is everything bigger in Vegas?

IMG_4921Chocolate martini at NYNY

IMG_7654My Phoenix bestie enjoying a martini!

IMG_0036Cheers!

IMG_0056Of to MGM to get the monorail back to the other end of the strip.

IMG_0038Upcoming fight this weekend.

IMG_4936Alesya is always having so much fun, I love being around her.

IMG_0068Next top Diana exhibit with all of us.

IMG_4946This exhibit was done do well, its a must see if you are in Vegas.

Remembering Dick

IMG_4531Alesya and I stopped in to see Dick and Bev with a FaceTime video call to Charlene, as she unable to make it to Phoenix. We gad a few laughs and talked about the good times when we were all together.

IMG_4530Charlene asked us to pick up a rainbow cake from Chompie's, a place of fond memories for Dick, Bev, Charlene and the family. I have to say, Bev was right, the cake was great!

DSC_0019Dick would talk highly of his family and friends constantly, and when I finally got to meet some of them, it felt like I knew them already. Dick's daughter Charlene and I have bonded and are best friends because of Dick. Dick had a talent of uniting people with love, food and kindness. I am blessed to have got so much time with Dick over the years and now Charlene.

IMG_4558That evening Alesya and I continued our celebration of Dick and visited one of his favourite resaturates, Las Glorias Grill. The food here is the best Mexican food I have had (at a restaurant) and the place holds so many memories for all of us. Often before or after board meetings, we would stop in to Las Glorias and order our usuals. I am so glad Alesya and I were able to make this happen, rounding out the day with food, fun, friends and more memories. Isn't that what it's about?!?!?

IMG_4560This is my go to dish, two grilled chicken enchiladas topped with sauce, melted cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and cotija cheese on a bed of grilled peppers and onions. YUM!

Food, Fun, Friends & Patio for Cody

IMG_4409Cheese!

IMG_4418Look Daddy, I am a good boy at the table!

It was so great to reconnect with Alesya and spend time together planning on attending a festival or two and Vegas. Thanks Alesya for an amazing day, and for suggesting OHSO on E Shae Blvd for Cody to join us. Cody loved the dog bowl of water and his turkey burger. They also have some awesome dog cookies to take home with you. Good fun had by all!

Touring Around Phoenix

IMG_4249Hello Christa - so good to see you!

IMG_4247Stopped in to El Caro Villas - the place looks the same.

IMG_4245Still all the issues I logged are not taken care of.

IMG_4248Fence and gate are in, but not to the promised design.

I am so glad we sold our home and left before the new development around us was completed. I will say, the Board of Directors should have presented the legal documents governing the project, they would have had the right landscape, walking path and gate oh well, their loss, I'm glad to be gone.

Welcome Stacy

IMG_2487Stacy just arrived for a visit before Christmas.

IMG_9239Sightseeing with Cody and enjoying the company.

IMG_2496BEACH!

IMG_2618Moments to cherish.

IMG_2640Jupiter beach at marker 27 is amazing and it's one of the few dog friendly beaches.

IMG_2676Storm rolled in so we sent to the beach to see. The clouds and the ocean is mesmerizing with the colours, wind and power of Mother Nature. As the sand blasts your face, you are left with a great spa treatment and the taste of salt on your lips. Darrel and Cody were smart, they did not want to mess their hair and stayed in the Jeep.

IMG_2684Hold on!

IMG_2770Watching the sun set over the inlet in Jupiter.

IMG_2880Goodbye Stacy - See you again soon!

Friends

It was great to reconnect post COVID and let go of the differences and just focus on the friendship and what is important in life. Stacy loved Florida and took up the opportunity to talk to other RV people who are travelling full time. It was nice to see Stacy planning her future and working on her dreams. Good Luck Stacy in your search and I can't wait to see you on the road with us! Hurry, you still have time to make your way south!

Quick Trip Home

IMG_2285Flight from FLL to YYC on the Disney's Frozen airplane. I was lucky to be able to watch the movie on the airplane.

IMG_2323Off to the Christmas Market at Spruce Meadows with Susan and the kids. So nice to see the family.

IMG_2308Look at these classic Calgary mountain views.

IMG_4927Look Darrel! No Mom, he will not fit on the airplane with me.

IMG_2315Live, Laugh Love!

IMG_6151While I was in Calgary, Cody had his spa day. Doesn't he look great?

IMG_2349Visited Maria and checked out the Christmas Tree. It was nice seeing Maria and our old house. The new owners have not decorated for Christmas like we used to. I think the neighbours miss us.

IMG_2352Thanks Mom for a wonderful visit and for letting me sleep on the hidden bed. Happy

IMG_2359Thanks WestJet for seat 30C. Yup, right at the lavatory door. Ewwwww.

Wilmington NC - Halloween with Friends

IMG_1529Reunited with Charlene. It's the people in life that make the moments so special. Last time we seen Charlene was when we were heading out of Phoenix, after selling the condo and driving back to Calgary. It was great reconnecting and experiencing Wilmington. My good friend Dick brought us together, I am just sad that Dick is no longer with us. We miss you Dick.

IMG_1558Hello Aida, sweet girl. So nice to meet you. Cody loves his new cousin and feels at home here. Dick loved Cody so it is fitting that Cody feels so welcome here in Wilmington.

IMG_1578 (1)Charlene made an amazing seafood dinner and me got to meet TR and Paula, both who have become immediate friends and we cannot wait to see you two again soon.

IMG_1535Familiar? These steps are the ones used in Matlock.

IMG_1531Downtown Wilmington is beautiful and I am glad I have experienced it first hand. Dick used to speak about these sites I am finally seeing in person. Again, I miss you Dick. I am glad i am here with Charlene.

IMG_1553Nice view from under the pier in the shade.

IMG_1555Charlene and I together on the beach. Hugs.

IMG_1543Darrel, Cody, Charlene and Aida checking out the warm water and soft sand. How can you not love a great beach!

Screenshot 2023-10-31 at 9.02.22 AMHalloween Cemetery Walk - A little spooky but we had a lot of fun with our friends and our new friends. It's nice to see such an active prideful community.

IMG_1581Oh no - Canada died and is buried here.

IMG_1602Halloween walkers who were scary enough not to need a costume.

IMG_1594And now the folks who dressed up for the occasion. Great fun and the puppers loved the walks and meeting new dogs.

IMG_1609Halloween night with some live music and a drink. Anyone up for bobbing for apples?

  • Review: We enjoyed the campground but to be honest we did not spend much time here. We were busy visiting cherished friends and did not take in much at the campground. Our campsite was free and clear of large trees so Starlink worked great. We did use the laundry facilities and it was nice to see you could use an app and Apple Pay. Wilmington has lots to offer and has a very large and active gay community. We were welcomed with open arms and met lots of new friends. Thank you Charlene, TR and Paula for a wonderful time. Cody loved meeting his cousin Aida and we cannot wait to return. We miss all of you so much.

Atlantic City, Cape May and Beaches

IMG_1253Nice grass and walking paths for Cody around the relaxing lake.

IMG_1256Picturesque views.

FullSizeRender (1)So great be meet Mike and reunite with Sean.

FullSizeRenderReminiscing about crew memories with amazing people and great friends.

IMG_1313The view at Oyster Creek restaurant. If in the area, stop in, you will be glad you did!

IMG_1316Thought our travels, we have stopped into Guy's reviewed restaurants and have never been disappointed.

IMG_1295Checking out the Beaches of New Jersey. WOW.
IMG_1269I never knew the beaches on the North Atlantic were this stunning.
IMG_1271Atlantic City down the beach.
IMG_1290Visiting Ventnor pier and checking out Lucy.
IMG_1267Hello Lucy! Originally created to attract visitors to the area when they seen a huge elephant from the water when arriving at Atlantic City. They claim it never worked back then, but now, Ventnor is the place to be!

IMG_7007Cody and Lucy.
IMG_1288Just love at the beach.

IMG_7010Hello from the beach!

IMG_1349And another special day at the beach.

IMG_1344The power of healing with Mother Nature's sun, sand, water and sounds of waves. A healthy dose of vitamin SEA!

IMG_1310Caesars Atlantic City.

IMG_1302Stopped in to play the slots and loose some cash!

IMG_1332Cape May has great good, sights to see and is a special sea side town with a great welcoming vibe.

IMG_1331Lovely seasonal decorations.

IMG_1336Barbara picked this amazing restaurant - great choice.

IMG_1338Costal lunch = fresh lobster roll.

IMG_1337Lovely lunch on the patio.

IMG_1351Site seeing in Cape May, amazing historic hotel across from the beach.

IMG_1355Ferry terminal we will depart from soon!

IMG_1361Cody's first ferry ride, off to Deleware we go.

IMG_1363Yes, there is a motorhome onboard but it's not ours. Nice to know they fit!

IMG_1387Watching the vehicles drive off the ferry in Deleware. We took the same ferry back to New Jersey.

IMG_1374We met at sea, so it was nice to be back on the water relaxing and reminiscing.

IMG_1393Spotted some marine life in the ocean and taking time to reflect on life and enjoy the sea breeze in the sun.

IMG_1404As the sun starts to set, I reflect on the day and people making this day so grand. Lucky to experience all of this with Cody.

IMG_1413As the day comes to an end, we rush to the beach to capture the moments the sun is swallowed up by the ocean.

IMG_1408So blessed to be able to watch the sun set and share this moment with Barbara, Darrel and Cody.

IMG_1412Tomorrow we continue our journey south. We had a great time and cannot wait to be back to see you Barbara, Mike, Sean and Milo. Hugs.

  • Review: Large big rig sites, some trees but we were able to use Starlink. All of our time was spent visiting Barbara, Mike and Sean in New Jersey. I feel so blessed to reconnect with Barbara and Sean as we met long ago on a cruise and we have kept in touch. Finding friends at a hot tub and connecting with common ground makes lasting friendships to stand the length of time. Thank you so much Barbara and Mike for an amazing dinner that rates as one of the best (if not the best) seafood restaurant I have ever been to. The food quality was on par with Mama's Fish House on Maui (for those that have been there). Top notch, just ask Guy Fiere! This was an actioned packed few days with beaches, casinos, piers, boardwalks, historic cities, cape may, ferry ride to Delaware and so much more. It was great meeting you Milo, can't wait to see you all again really soon! Hugs and love from us to you!

Happy Thanksgiving

IMG_0790Did somebody say - ROAD TRIP! I'm ready.

IMG_0797We just parked and started the 600 meter hike to the lookout. Quads to the left and cars/hikers to the right.

IMG_0800The leaves look so awesome.

IMG_0802Lucy welcoming us to to Jaquet River Gorge Lookout in total Vanna White style!

IMG_0809A day trip to Jaquet River Gorge to see the fall colours. It was a close 25 minute drive and 15 minute walk to Paul's Lookout. I am so glad we went for a drive today. Thank-you Clarence for the suggestion.

IMG_0810This was Kathleen and the kids first time here. We did not plan on the hike today, we may have all had the worst footwear, but we made it.

IMG_0805The beauty and power of Mother Nature is felt here. What a special spot.

IMG_0806Amazing view!

IMG_0780So many things to be thankful for this year, like a beautiful day when the fog clears and leaves a rainbow behind.

IMG_0726All roads seem to lead you to a lighthouse in Atlantic Canada.

IMG_0742Cody loves his walks around the lighthouse and beach.

IMG_0736Cody sharing the love and our journey together. Lucky dog!

IMG_0795We stopped in at a local farmers market for dinner buns for Thanksgiving dinner and found home made sausages, mustard pickle and lady Ashburnham pickles. What a treat and reminded me of an Auntie from Saskatchewan that would make mustard pickles.

Great to be with Friends

IMG_0697Finally arrived after 2801 miles or 4507 km in 14 days. It's nice to stop and relax and spend time with our friends. It's so great to be here with Kathleen and her husband Clarence.

IMG_0702We have had perfect weather, it was 25 degrees C and perfect for a stroll on the beach. We found lots of interesting shells and sea glass for Ron (Kathleens's dad) who just returned to Calgary and we missed him by a few days.

IMG_0696Darrel and Cody walking the beach. Cody kept wanting to go in for a swim but we did not want to have to deal with a soggy dog and no way to give him a good bath.

IMG_0687Cody eyeing up the water, ready to go swimming.

IMG_0677Rheal (Clarence's dad) stopped in to cook the lobster and shared lots of tips and stories on how to cook lobster. It was so nice seeing him again. Thanks Rheal for a great time.
