Quick Trip Home

IMG_2285Flight from FLL to YYC on the Disney's Frozen airplane. I was lucky to be able to watch the movie on the airplane.

IMG_2323Off to the Christmas Market at Spruce Meadows with Susan and the kids. So nice to see the family.

IMG_4927Look Darrel! No Mom, he will not fit on the airplane with me.

IMG_6151While I was in Calgary, Cody had his spa day. Doesn't he look great?

IMG_2349Visited Maria and checked out the Christmas Tree. It was nice seeing Maria and our old house. The new owners have not decorated for Christmas like we used to. I think the neighbours miss us.

IMG_2352Thanks Mom for a wonderful visit and for letting me sleep on the hidden bed. Happy

IMG_2359Thanks WestJet for seat 30C. Yup, right at the lavatory door. Ewwwww.

Rest and Recuperation Days

IMG_0330

Back to Aspen Crossing

The campground in Okotoks was booked so we moved back to Aspen Crossing, and Darrel has been doing really well so no nee to be as close to Calgary any longer. Mom,Dad, Susan, Christian, Courtney, Shuantae and Theo came out to check in on Darrel. We enjoyed showing the family the campground, greenhouse, gift shops and we picked up some farm fresh eggs. We met the posse that robs the train, though they said they were the good guys! Family made the rest and recovery days go by so fast. Cody loved all the kisses and treats from his Grandma and Grandpa!

Moms

Tonight we celebrated with my Mom and Maria (our Mom next door). Again more laughs, love and good times. This journey will be hard without seeing our Moms everyday but thank goodness for FaceTime.

EVENING OUT

It was wonderful having an evening out at Pampa with Christian and Courtney. Good food, but most importantly some laughs, reminiscing and cherishing our time together. My nieces and nephews have always been am important part of my life and, I cherish each and every one of them.

Happy Birhtday Darrel

Birthday Cake - On Cody's Bed

Why on Cody's bed you ask? Because we have no furniture left in the house. It was still great celebrating Darrel's birthday with both our Mom's and Cody. Yes, I made (well unpackaged) the mini angel food cakes and copped the fresh peaches. At no time was Darrel required to help prepare his Birthday Cake! Happy Happy Birthday Darrel - Cody and I love you to the moon and back! Thank you for all that you do and we both can't wait to start our retirement journey this fall with you. Xo Xo Xo

Visiting Family in Woking

IMG_0954

Travel Day - Cody enjoying this lovely day.

The Motorhome part has been installed and we are ready to get on our way. Soon we will make the short drive to Woking to visit Darrel's Uncle Mickey and Auntie Lynn on the farm. It's always nice to visit such awesome people and relax and enjoy the open country air.

IMG_0998Lynn and Darrel found the perfect sport to park the motorhome.

IMG_1003Peggy sang logs of songs and kept the entertainment going.

IMG_1022Mickey kept the fire stoked and it was mesmerizing to watch the flames dance in the crisp darkness.

IMG_1407Thanks Lynn and Mickey for a wonderful time. We can't wait to see you again. Let's hope there is more puppies to play with again on our next visit.

Moving Weekend

IMG_0724

Home Sweet Home

Today we will be moving some furniture to Mom's condo, taking the opportunity to upgrade Mom's couch and table and bed. I am happy that many of the items in our home are going to family that will be able to continue to enjoy them for years to come. It also reduces the sadness that I feel sometimes, as I think about leaving our amazing home. Darrel and I purchased the home back in 2008 and we have spent oodles of money along with blood, sweat and tears making this house our home. I can honestly say that everyone that came with their Realtor loved our home. I am sad knowing that we will be leaving soon, but I am also happy knowing that our home will become someone else's home, who will love it like we did. Thank you Dad, Uncle Jordy, Christian, Courtney and Susan for helping Darrel, Cody and I today! I love that our family is taking part in our journey with us.

The Important Things In Life

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Please don't judge the sloppy tacos. As Mexico and our Mexican friends celebrate independence, we join the celebration and spend time together as I work on getting better and continue doing tests at the hospital. It has become clear that my family comes first and I need to start planning our Journey. We have decided to start downsizing and planning for Darrel's retirement and how that will look. Happy, healthy, exciting times to come. Thanks Mom, Courtney and Christian for all the love and support as we follow our dreams.
