Deleware Water Gap / Pocono Mountain KOA

IMG_1178Due to a booking error on my part, we needed to say a few more nights. We moved from our original site to this more secluded site. Starlink worked great and it was aimed right at a tree with no leaves.

IMG_1243It's trick-or-treat night here at the KOA and there is a spooky full moon over our motorhome.

IMG_1203We have a halloween video playing as we hand out candy to all the kids. There had to be 100 kids, way more than we get at home.

IMG_1214We had our first campfire and made s'mores after handing out candy.

IMG_1212Cody enjoyed the campfire and evening of trick-or-treating.

IMG_1176This KOA planned an amazing evening of fun and entertainment. The spooky haunted house was a big hit. This KOA did halloween right!

IMG_1167Decorations galore.

IMG_1169The halloween spirit is amazing here.
IMG_1168Every inch of the property is decorated and at night looks great.

IMG_1185The haunted RV's will be fun to visit.

IMG_1183It's daylight and still pretty spooky.

IMG_1196The KOA has guines that eat ticks. They let the birds loose each morning and they return before dark to be rounded up put in their coup.

IMG_1230I love the fire barrels. There was also a main bonfire where you met to queue up for the haunted RV tour.

IMG_1231The haunted RV's are almost ready to open.

IMG_1240There is a campsite decorating contest and it was hard to choose who had the best setup. People were so creating and went all out.

IMG_1237Another campsite that was done really well.

IMG_1221This is the dog costume judging. So many cute pups, fun times for all.

  • Review: This KOA does halloween right. People book a year in advance to celebrate the halloween weekends and we are lucky that we got to take it all in. There was a booking error on my part and the campground was sold out. The staff were so accommodating and they moved their own motorhome so we had a place to say. Thank you so much! The halloween party was awesome, with costume judging, dog costume judging, campsite decoration judging and trick-or-treating. We went to town and got lots of candy as there was so many kids in the campground, we knew it would be a great evening for handing out candy. We met the IT guy at the campground and we started talking about our starlink and he asked if we tried the KOA wifi. I said no, and he said give it a try. I was so impressed that the KOA had gigabit internet at each site. This KOA has invested a lot of money and time into true high speed internet were you can stream till your hearts content. If you are in the area and it's close to halloween, you need to stay here. I would literally plan my next stay around halloween, it was so much fun. Thanks KOA for an amazing time. A stellar google review in being created now for you! A++

Northampton / Springfield

IMG_1163Beautiful windy (yet narrow) roads. You can really see the colours of Autumn here in the Pocono mountains.

IMG_1161Slowly making our way to the campground.

IMG_1143The pool was taken over by a huge skeleton.

IMG_1146Nice lagoon to sit back and enjoy the fresh mountain air and colours of the leaves.

  • Review: $70 per night. We did not unhook the Jeep as we were only here one night. Starlink worked great and we enjoyed the Halloween decorations.

Boston, Cape Cod & The Kennedys

IMG_1097Large site with trees so no starlink. We did not need it as we spent our time sight seeing and walking Cody around the campground.

IMG_1110Love the ghosts dancing around the tree. I am going to have to use this next Halloween.

IMG_1107Halloween party tent. Fun activities for kids.

IMG_1142We camped across the street from the Historic (haunted) Oliver House.

IMG_1124J.F.K. Memorial.

IMG_1114And from the other side.

IMG_1118The Kennedy Memorial beach.

IMG_1129The Kennedy Compound, I walked down the street a bit, but I did keep my distance out of respect for the Kennedy's that still life next door.

IMG_1136Lunch on the patio, lobster rolls and drinks. Yum! Cody approved.

  • Review: $80 per night FHU pull through. Very large campground and truly big rig friendly. It was a bit of a drive to Cape Cod, but well worth it. We toured around and had lunch on a dog friendly patio with Cody. It was the off-season, but I bet this place would be packed during the summer.
